Our client is looking for a Database Manager with expertise in SQL or PostgreSQLThis is hybrid 3 days onsite in Downtown ChicagoResponsibilities:Manages day to day activities of database administration staff in support of all databases for projects and productionManages database department efforts in support of project teams, review and approve proposed changes by project teams to the logical database design and approve changes to Corporation’s databasesContribute to decisions on personnel actions (hiring, promotions, terminations, etc.)Manages activities with other departments (e.g. information technology, unix administration, technical support, production automation, project office, etc.)Qualifications: 3+ years of managing all areas of a database group including direct people management8+ years of SQL and/or PostgreSQL experienceIn-depth knowledge of how database department fits into development lifecycleExcellent communication skills, analytical abilities, strong judgement and management skills, and ability to work with customers, managers and staff
