Learning & Development Specialist

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.In collaboration with the Training Manager, subject matter expert and leadership, develop TG University and location-based training strategies and methods to educate, enhance and recognize performanceSupport the design and development of training programsCoordinate facilitate and lead employee and leadership development programs home and potentially various TG locationsCreate, maintain and update training procedure manuals, guides and course materialIdentify and assess training needs of staff through discussions with leadership/team members and surveysProduce training materials for in-house courses as appropriate. Amend and revise materials as necessary, in order to adapt to changes that occurDevelop methods for and evaluate training program effectiveness and impacts (evaluation, survey, audits)Drive optimization by being actively engaged in continuous improvement effortsFunction in a highly collaborative environment where flexibility and teamwork is crucial to organizational successProvide appropriate feedback on oral and written workBasic administration, such as keeping team member registers and attendance records during trainingWork with LMS Specialist to build or input information in the LMS: courses, offerings, rosters, etc.Mentor, audit and provide feedback to instructors and on-site expertsAttend and contribute to training sessions (future internal, external sessions)Maintain awareness and understand the roles and responsibilities regarding the environmental policies, management system, and objectives and targets by attending the required training. Perform all tasks in accordance with the EMS procedures and practices and minimize the impact of their activities on the environmentEvaluate training results and efforts to improveRun report or create dashboards to show the resultsQUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential function.Five+ years of experience in training and/or development, manufacturing environment preferredProven ability to manage the full cycle of a project - needs assessment, design and delivery of training programsAbility to influence change in professional and manufacturing environments through "engaging" instructionAbility to maintain a high degree of confidentiality is requiredEffective analytical and problem solving skills are requiredProficiency using Microsoft Office Suites 2007 or newer is requiredAbility to consistently meet deadlinesSuperior verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills with all staff and management are requiredFluent in primary language at TG locationEffective attention to detail, and organizational skills is requiredEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five+ years related experienceand/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Master's degree preferredCOMMUNICATION SKILLSAbility to communicate with a wide variety of people from management to production team member to skilled maintenance.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Clear, concise written and verbal skills and problem solving skills required. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of team members.TECHNICAL SKILLSComputer proficiency with MS Office products, particularly ExcelMATHEMATICAL SKILLSBasic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division is necessary. The ability to express numbers as a decimal, convert numbers into percentages and from percentages to whole numbers, ability to express numbers as a fraction and perform basic math operations using positive and negative numbers and as ratios or averages.REASONING ABILITYAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
