Cafeteria Worker

DescriptionPosition Summary:Are you friendly, dependable, and enjoy working in a fast-paced food service environment? We're looking for a Cafeteria Worker to join our team! In this role, you'll help prepare and serve meals, operate the point-of-sale system, and maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming cafeteria for employees and visitors. You'll also support daily operations by stocking snacks and beverages, assisting with food prep, and providing excellent customer service during meal breaks. Responsibilities:• Prepare daily food items and assist the Team Leader with tasks such as cutting produce, baking, frying, and setting up wells using proper safety and sanitation practices • Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage procedures • Assemble grab-and-go items such as parfaits, fruit cups, sandwiches, and salads • Keep the kitchen and cafeteria clean and organized, including running the dish machine, wiping down counters and coolers, sweeping, and mopping • Ensure adequate quantities of food are available for each break without excessive waste • Assist with putting away deliveries, managing waste, restocking supplies, and noting items that need to be reordered • Communicate with customers regarding orders, questions, and concerns • Serve customers during meal breaks in a courteous, efficient manner • Accept payment and make accurate change using the point-of-sale system • Count the register at the beginning and end of shift and provide reports and funds to the Accounting Department Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Candidates must already possess-or be willing to learn-the following: • Basic understanding of food preparation and safe cooking practices • Knowledge of proper food handling, storage, and sanitation standards • Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional attitude • Basic math skills • Effective time-management skills, especially during busy meal periods • Ability to stand for extended periods • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally Working Hours:• Day shift, Monday through Friday • Occasional half-day Saturday • Full-time and part-time opportunities available Benefits:Applies to full-time employees. • 13 days paid vacation minimum per year; PTO accrual begins on your first day • 8.5 paid holidays: New Year's Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day After Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve (½ day), and Christmas Day Retirement Options:No-cost Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) 401(k) with company match up to 4% • Affordable health, dental, vision, life, and pet insurance options • No-cost on-site medical care with Physician Assistant • No-cost long-term disability insurance • No-cost on-site counseling services • On-site fitness center with a certified personal trainer, classes, and wellness programs • On-site cafeteria serving breakfast and lunch • Employee discounts on products • Tuition assistance program • And more!
