Salary: $17.25 - $19.25 HourlyLocation : Elgin, ILJob Type: SeasonalJob Number: 20250807-04Department: Parks and RecreationOpening Date: 03/19/2026Closing Date: 4/5/2026 11:59 PM CentralPOSITION OVERVIEWResponsible for teaching group and private swimming lessons.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- This position reports to the Head Guards and Aquatic Supervisor.- Responsible for the safety of all patrons both on deck and in the water.- Responsible for teaching swim lessons, group and private.- Required to attend all necessary trainings.- Responsible for the cleanliness and facility decorum.- Maintain a positive public image and attitude with good public relations.- Wear appropriate staff uniform at all times.- Attend all staff meetings.- Abide by all City of Elgin rules and regulations as outlined in the Employee Manual.- Other duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESMinimum 15 years of ageMust have prior swimming experienceAbility to work pleasantly with patrons and co-workersAbility to enforce all rules and policies in a diplomatic mannerBe able to handle multiple duties/tasksMust pass drug and background checksMust receive CPR/AED/First Aid certificationMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSGroup Lessons take place during weekday evenings, 6-7:30pm, and weekends, 8:30-11:30am.Private lessons are scheduled based on customer and employee availability.This position does not receive benefits.01Have you already obtained your CPR, AED, and First Aid certification?YesNo02Do you have any previous experience teaching swimming lessons?YesNo
