Safety Coordinator

Job Description:The Safety Coordinator assists the site's Safety Manager and EHS Manager in the development, implementation and maintenance of the safety, health, and environmental procedures within the guidelines of OSHA, NFPA, EPA, FDEP and local governmental agencies.Responsibilities:Ensure company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health are Administration (OSHA) standards are followed.Lead and/or assist with environmental, health, and safety compliance activities including, but not limited to: Employee training, Site level inspections daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual, Reporting, documenting and correcting EHS violations, Record retention and metric developmentConduct documented daily assessments of employees, PPE compliance, hand tool safety, walking and working surface compliance, and hazard identification.Review and update lockout/tagout (LOTO) documentation.Participate in the on-going review, maintenance, training, and implementation of all company safety programs to include emergency response teams and exercises.Participate in the monthly safety committee meetings and activities.Support and facilitate new hire environmental, health, and safety orientation.Participate in incident investigations to determine root cause and effective corrective action.Remain current with the latest safety and environmental requirements: RCRA, HAZWOPER, OSHA 511/501, 1st Aid/CPR/AEDPerforms other duties as assigned.Requirements:Proficient knowledge of regulatory requirements mandated by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and various other regulatory requirements relevant for industrial operations.Knowledge of environmental regulations such as RCRA, wastewater compliance and air compliance.Strong computer skills and familiar with Microsoft Office Suite.Experience in a manufacturing environment related to Environmental, Health, and Safety.Experience coaching employees on safe and at-risk behaviors.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).Preferred:Two or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment related to Environmental, Health, and Safety.Experience performing hazardous waste inspections and understanding processes which can produce hazardous wastes and hazardous air pollutants.Experience working with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.Certifications: OSHA 511/501, OSHA 30, Six Sigma green belt, Lean manufacturing certifications, HAZWOPER, 1st Aid/CPR/AED, RCRA, GSP, ASP, CSP or other related certifications in EHS management, compliance or management systems.Education:Associate degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Science or other EHS related field or combination of education and relevant work experience.We offer attractive, competitive compensation and benefits including, medical, dental, 401k, short-term disability, AD&D, tuition reimbursement, and more.
