On-Site RoleCompensation: $32 per hourAbout The RoleOur client is seeking a Transportation Planner for a contract, onsite role focused on managing the movement of goods within a dynamic retail environment. As a Transportation Planner, you will be responsible for booking and monitoring freight shipments-including truckload, intermodal, and less-than-truckload-from US-based suppliers to distribution and fulfillment centers, ensuring shipments are delivered on time and in full. You will utilize transportation management system (TMS) software, collaborate with stakeholders across the supply chain, and drive operational efficiency and cost savings. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is eager to make a tangible impact on supply chain operations.What You'll DoPlan and execute the booking of inbound shipments using transportation management system (TMS) softwareMonitor freight movement-including truckload, intermodal, and less-than-truckload (LTL)-to ensure on-time and in-full delivery to distribution and fulfillment centersPartner with suppliers, carriers, distribution centers, and merchandising teams to maintain the seamless flow of goodsCollaborate with other members of the Domestic First Mile Transportation team to drive operational efficiency and cost savingsCommunicate effectively with stakeholders to resolve shipment exceptions and provide outstanding customer serviceUtilize Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word) for data analysis, reporting, and communicationDerive insights from transportation data to support continuous improvement initiativesAdapt to a fast-paced, collaborative work environment and proactively learn new systems and processesWHAT YOU BRINGProficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and WordAbility to use or learn transportation management system (TMS) software to execute shipments, manage exceptions, and analyze dataStrong written and verbal communication skillsExperience booking and monitoring freight shipments (truckload, intermodal, LTL) is preferredAbility to work comfortably in a fast-paced, collaborative environmentMotivated, results-oriented, and committed to delivering outstanding customer serviceAbility to partner with stakeholders across suppliers, carriers, distribution centers, and merchandising teams1 year of transportation experience OR a Bachelor's degree in a Supply Chain-related field
