Program Instructor - Seniors Program, Part time

Cedars of Marin provides day programs and residential opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities. Founded in 1919, our exceptional person-centered programs nurture creative, productive, joyful, and healthy lives.Cedars Textile Art Collaborative (TAC) offers Cedars clients fun, inspiring, creative day programs. We are currently looking for a compassionate, skillful part-time Program Instructor in our Senior Program!As an Instructor in the Senior program, you will work with retired individuals to determine and plan their daily activities, which may include community-based projects, volunteer opportunities, and on-site music and art projects.The TAC Program is set on more than 2 dozen acres that overlook San Anselmo. The remote, beautiful property includes a community garden, art barn studio space, upgraded kitchen, weaving studio and more!This position will require some degree of hands on caregiving (help with personal hygiene, toileting, etc.), to the extent that a participant requires. If you are a patient, supportive and creative individual who wants to help others succeed, please apply!The hours for the Senior Instructor are Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM. The rate of pay is $21.75/hour.RequirementsExperience working with developmentally disabled people is preferredExperience with or willingness to learn to provide direct caregiving when neededExperience leading, advising, organizing, and motivating groups of peopleExcellent attendance and punctualityThe ability to teach and provide skills in the program areas offered at TACWillingness to pitch in when/where neededAbility to pass an employment physical including a TB test, and to meet the physical requirements of the jobA valid DMV driver's license, a minimum of 3 years of driving experience, and a willingness to drive a passenger vanCPR and First Aid certifications or the willingness to acquire bothAbility to pass a criminal background check with the FBI and DOJA good sense of humor is a plus!
