Senior Project Engineer - Utilities
Our client is looking for Sr Project Engineer/Project Manager of Utilities in the building of their new API facility in Lebanon, IN!Multi year contract opportunity!This position will include:Oversight of plant and clean utility equipment, including water systems, WFI, HVAC, chillers, and coolersWorking directly with construction team on the groundDevelopment of risk plans and mitigation strategies with key stakeholdersExecution of projects with responsibility for cost, schedule, and scopeProtect Owner interests while maintaining productive EPCM relationshipsKey Responsibilities:Project Leadership & OversightLead the execution of utility equipment scope and serve as the primary technical representative.Ensure EPCM partners and contractors follow approved scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements.Challenge EPCM recommendations to safeguard Owner interests.Commercial & Contracting SupportReview award recommendations, change orders, field changes, and commercial or schedule impacts.Coordinate closely with vendors through design, fabrication, FAT, delivery, and on‑site support.Technical CoordinationCollaborate with process, piping, E&I, automation, C&Q, and facilities teams to ensure seamless system integration.Participate in constructability, maintainability, and schedule reviews.Track equipment schedules and proactively address vendor‑related risks.Field & Installation SupportMaintain on‑site presence as needed to support field execution.Ensure utility equipment installation aligns with design requirements, specifications, and GMP standards.Partner with construction, QA/QC, and safety teams to resolve field issues and NCRs.Support walkdowns, punch lists, installation readiness, and system turnover.Commissioning & QualificationSupport commissioning, qualification, and validation activities for utility systems.Review and approve turnover documentation.Work with Operations and Quality teams to ensure system readiness and handover.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline10+ years of experience in pharma/biotech engineering or project managementStrong knowledge of utility systems, including WFI, clean steam, HVAC, and process utilitiesExperience with GMP, validation, vendor management, and mechanical equipment projectsProficiency with project management tools; strong communication and leadership abilitiesAbility to work effectively in fast‑paced, dynamic environmentsCore CompetenciesStrong ownership, attention to detail, and problem‑solving capabilityAbility to constructively challenge EPCM partners and contractorsExcellent communication and stakeholder managementHigh follow‑through and discipline across multi‑discipline workstreamsPreferred QualificationsExperience with commissioning and qualification activitiesPMP or equivalent certificationExperience supporting large greenfield or expansion projects Impellam Group and its brands are equal-opportunity employers committed to diversity and inclusion.
