Accompanist

DescriptionSt James the Greater Catholic Church in Hopewell, Virginia is seeking a skilled and dedicated Accompanist to support our parish's English music ministry. The accompanist will provide instrumental accompaniment - typically on piano or organ - for weekend liturgies, rehearsals, and parish celebrations.Working in collaboration with the Choir Director and under the direction of the Pastor/Administrator, the accompanist helps foster reverent, joyful, and participatory worship in keeping with the liturgical traditions of the Roman Catholic Church.RequirementsQualifications:Proficiency in piano and/or organ accompanimentExperience accompanying choirs and congregational singingFamiliarity with Catholic liturgical music and worshipAbility to read music and adapt to choir and liturgical needsWillingness to collaborate and serve within a parish community.• Hours and Compensation:This is a part-time position averaging approximately 6 hours per week. Hours will vary based on rehearsals, Mass schedules, and special liturgical celebrations.
