Service Technician Industrial Lighting Systems

GAITHERSBURG, MD, UNITED STATES As Service Technician Industrial Lighting Systems, you will perform preventative and demand maintenance on industrial light equipment. The position includes providing technical support for our customers via phone and email and preparation of quotes. The work will be carried out at the Excelitas Noblelight Service center in Gaithersburg, Maryland and could include customer site visits, mainly within the US. *** PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS NOT AN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) ROLE*** Your role and responsibilities Independent execution of commissioning or service tasks for our systems with focus in the US- both in the workshop and at customer sites including; Evaluation and repair of electromechanical industrial special lighting equipment and on-site preventative maintenance, startup, and training services; Troubleshooting and sales and customer support via telephone and email; Documentation of work (e.g. scope of damage/repair, test/fault reports) and feedback in SAP and CRM to enable quotations; Execute assembly of electromechanical equipment for our custom projects if needed; Maintain a high-level of customer satisfaction through virtual and in person interactions; If required, coordination with internal interfaces such as sales, innovation, customer service, logistics; Support with goods receiving and shipping in service department; Required Qualifications Associate’s degree in related area with 2 years of related experience; or high school graduate with 5 years of related hands-on electrical and mechanical experience. Experience in handling in-house service orders mandatory; Experience in handling on-site commission support preferred; Demonstrated mechanical and technical aptitude; Experience in reading electrical schematics and used to working with standard electrical test equipment; Very good basic knowledge of fault analysis and electrical and mechanical troubleshooting; Experience in working with 3 phase 480V equipment; Ability to travel on short notice and possibly extended stay (if required); Good planning and organization skills; Proficient in use of Microsoft Word and Outlook; Ability to communicate technical information in verbal and written formats; Independent and committed way of working with an open and cultivated appearance (self-starter mentality); Ability to lift at least 75 lbs.; Ability to distinguish colors on electrical components: Additional knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics or electronics, as well as in the field of occupational safety and machine controls (PLC technology) would be a plus; Experience with CRM and SAP is a plus; Pay range is $30.00 - $40.00/hr. depending on experience This position requires the use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) Visa sponsorship is not available for any position at Excelitas Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer Minorities/Females/Disability/Veterans/Gender Identity/Sexual Orientation are encouraged to apply.
