Personal Care Assistant

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals with disabilities and those in need of personal care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our residents through attentive care and companionship. This role requires a blend of practical skills and emotional intelligence, ensuring that each individual receives personalized attention tailored to their unique needs. Duties Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing. Provide support in meal preparation and cooking, ensuring dietary needs are met. Monitor and document patient observations, reporting any changes in condition or behavior to the appropriate staff. Engage residents in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and mental stimulation. Ensure the safety and well-being of residents by adhering to resident rights and maintaining a respectful environment. Assist with mobility and transportation needs within the group home setting. Implement memory care techniques for residents experiencing cognitive challenges. Provide first aid and CPR as needed, ensuring a safe environment for all individuals under care. Qualifications Previous experience in patient care or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred. Knowledge of resident rights and advocacy for individuals with disabilities is essential. Certification in First Aid and CPR is highly desirable. Strong observational skills to monitor changes in resident behavior or health status. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being able to work independently when required. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff members.
