This position is responsible for preparing and presenting food that meets the restaurant's standards for quality, consistency, taste, and safety.Working as part of the kitchen team, the Cook helps ensure meals are prepared efficiently during service while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment. This role also supports menu execution, daily prep, and overall kitchen operations. Success in this position contributes directly to guest satisfaction and the reputation of Cedar River Bistro.Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentPrevious experience as a cook in a restaurant, resort, or similar food service environmentKnowledge of food safety, sanitation, and safe food handling practicesPreferred QualificationsCulinary degree or certification from a recognized programExperience working in a fast-paced kitchen environmentFamiliarity with a variety of cooking techniques and cuisinesKey ResponsibilitiesPrepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standardsEnsure food is prepared in a timely manner while maintaining consistency and qualityMaintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of kitchen equipment, workstations, and food storage areasAssist with food preparation, plating, and service during busy meal periodsSupport menu planning and seasonal specials as directed by kitchen leadershipMonitor product levels and assist with inventory control and supply orderingFollow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelinesWork collaboratively with other kitchen and restaurant team members to ensure smooth daily operationsRequired SkillsStrong cooking and food preparation skillsKnowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation standardsAttention to detail and commitment to food qualityAbility to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environmentStrong time management and organizational skillsEffective communication and teamwork skillsPreferred SkillsCreativity in food presentation and menu ideasBroad knowledge of cooking methods, ingredients, and flavor profilesAbility to adapt quickly to changing kitchen demands
