Head of Sales
The Head of Sales is a leadership position responsible for driving overall sales performance, building and leading a high-performing recruiting and sales team, and executing strategies to grow revenue in annuities, life insurance, and long-term care. This role serves as the primary leader for sales operations, advisor recruitment, carrier relationships, training programs, and cross-departmental coordination. This Head of Sales role will focus on both strategic growth initiatives and hands-on team development to achieve aggressive production and recruiting targets.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and Facilitate Sales MeetingsRun weekly group sales meetings for Annuity and Life insurance teams, providing content, sales ideas, motivation, and strategic direction.Conduct monthly Team Lead meetings to align on goals, performance, and initiatives.Hold weekly individual meetings with recruiters and sales support members to coach, troubleshoot, and drive improvement.Build and Develop the Recruiting TeamPersonally lead hiring, onboarding, and ongoing training of recruiters and sales personnel.Foster a culture of continuous improvement and high performance within the recruiting function.Manage Carrier RelationshipsOrganize and lead carrier meetings, develop meeting strategies, and ensure strong, proactive partnerships.Serve as the primary point for passing along carrier updates, product changes, and opportunities to the advisor network.Advisor Support and Problem ResolutionCollaborate with leadership team members to solve advisor issues, working directly with carriers to resolve problems efficiently.Provide high-touch support to advisors to enhance satisfaction, retention, and production.Organize Training and Growth OpportunitiesDesign and implement training programs, growth workshops, and development initiatives for advisors and team members.CRM and Lead Management (HubSpot)Oversee HubSpot organization and lead flow processes.Partner with operations and marketing leadership to ensure recruiters are targeting and calling the most appropriate prospects.Cross-Functional LiaisonPartner with Marketing and Operations to ensure front-to-end elite service experience for our customers.Control and optimize communications to/from sales personnel and supporting teams.Advocate for sales priorities and secure resources/support required for team success.Conference and Industry EngagementManage conference attendance strategy to ensure appropriate representation and distribution across teams.Elevate and position the organization and team as speakers at key industry conferences.Broker-Dealer CoordinationEnsure compliant business practices and maximize center of influence relationships through strong coordination with broker-dealer partners.Strategic Growth InitiativesDevelop and execute strategies for growth in RILA, VUL, and other emerging/new product opportunities.Build and enhance advisor programs and events.QualificationsExperience10+ years in financial services/insurance sales, with significant experience in life insurance, annuities, and/or investment products.5+ years in sales leadership roles, including managing recruiters, sales teams, and advisor networks.Proven track record of building recruiting teams, driving production growth, and managing carrier relationships.Skills & Competencies:Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building abilities.Excellent presentation, meeting facilitation, and content creation skills.Deep knowledge of life insurance, annuities, and related products.Experience with CRM systems (HubSpot preferred) and lead management processes.Strategic thinker with ability to develop and implement growth strategies for specific product lines.Partner with Marketing and Operations to ensure front-to-end elite service experience for our customers.Control and optimize communications to/from sales personnel and supporting teams.Advocate for sales priorities and secure resources/support required for team success.Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-management skills (advisors, carriers, internal departments, broker-dealers).Results-oriented with a hands-on approach balanced by strategic vision.EducationBachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field preferred.Relevant industry designations (CLU, ChFC, LUTCF, etc.) strongly preferred.Additional InformationTravel: Moderate travel required for carrier meetings, conferences, advisor events, and team support.Compensation: Competitive base salary + performance bonuses + incentives tied to recruiting, production, and revenue goals.Location: Core Income home office: Minneapolis area.This role is ideal for a proven sales leader who thrives in a dynamic insurance distribution environment, enjoys both strategic planning and direct team/recruiter development, and is passionate about growing advisor networks and production in life, annuity, and hybrid products.To apply, please submit your resume and a cover letter highlighting your relevant leadership experience in insurance/annuity sales and recruiting.Pay: From $150,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offProfessional development assistanceWork Location: In person
