Firefighter (Part-time)

Part-Time Firefighter The Town of Smithfield is seeking qualified applicants for the position of part-time Firefighter. Candidate performs varied tasks vital to the overall fire suppression and emergency response efforts of a municipal fire department. Employee will respond to emergency calls and function as a Firefighter, Emergency Rescue Technician, and Emergency Medical Technician. Candidate will assist with station duties, public fire education, equipment maintenance, and contribute to the overall emergency response readiness of the department. Completion of high school or equivalent experience in fire ground operations, equipment/apparatus operations, emergency medical care, and hazardous materials. Preferred candidates will have North Carolina Firefighter II Certification, Emergency Medical Technician-Basic, Emergency Rescue Technician, North Carolina Hazardous Materials Responder Level I, and Valid North Carolina Class-B Operators License.
