Job Description Position SummaryThe Golf Car & Small Engine Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of the marina’s fleet of golf cars and small engine equipment.This position ensures that all equipment is operating safely, efficiently, and reliably to support marina operations and provide a positive guest experience. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to preventative maintenance and safety.Not sure what skills you will need for this opportunity Simply read the full description below to get a complete picture of candidate requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment Maintenance & RepairInspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain gas and electric golf carsService small engine equipment, including generators, pumps, pressure washers, and security vehiclesTroubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and fuel system issuesPreventative MaintenancePerform routine maintenance including oil changes, battery service, brake adjustments, and tire repairsMaintain preventative maintenance schedules to ensure equipment reliabilityIdentify potential issues and address them proactivelyFleet Support & OperationsEnsure all equipment meets safety and operational standardsAssist with maintaining readiness and availability of fleet equipmentRespond to equipment issues impacting marina operationsParts & Inventory CoordinationIdentify required parts and materials for repairsAssist with tracking inventory and maintaining adequate supply levelsCoordinate with supervisors on ordering and procurement needsDocumentation & RecordkeepingMaintain accurate service, repair, and maintenance recordsDocument equipment condition and completed workSafety & Work EnvironmentFollow all safety policies and proceduresMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work areaUse proper tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE)Team CoordinationWork collaboratively with marina operations and management teamsSupport operational needs across the marina as requiredGeneral DutiesPerform other duties as assignedRespond to emergency or on-call repair needs as requiredQualifications & RequirementsEducation & ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalent required2–3 years of experience working with golf cars and/or small engines preferredExperience with gas-powered and electric equipmentKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skillsBasic understanding of electrical systems and diagnosticsAbility to read and interpret manuals, diagrams, and service instructionsStrong attention to detail and problem-solving abilityAbility to work independently and manage multiple tasksDependable, self-motivated, and safety-consciousLicenses & CertificationsMust possess a valid Arizona driver’s license (or ability to obtain) and maintain a driving record that meets District standardsPreferred QualificationsExperience with brands such as Club Car, E-Z-GO, Yamaha, or similarWelding or fabrication experienceExperience in marina, resort, or fleet maintenance environmentsPhysical & Work RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasksAbility to safely perform work using proper body mechanics and ergonomic practicesAbility to work outdoors in varying weather conditionsAbility to stand, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive tasksAbility to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and on-call as neededThis is a safety-sensitive position.
