We are seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Materials Handler & Motor Vehicle Operator to support daily warehouse, inventory, mail center, and transportation operations. This role performs a wide range of duties including driving, material handling, deliveries, receiving, staging, and maintaining accurate inventory and documentation in support of government operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, physically capable, and committed to maintaining a high standard of quality, safety, and customer service. Key Responsibilities: Drives passenger vehicle or two-ton box truck to transport personnel, U.S. mail, supplies, and equipment. Makes daily deliveries of all outgoing U.S. mail and Express mail to the United States Postal Service (USPS) or FedEx. Loads and transports salvage material to contractor for destruction as needed. Picks-up and deliveries to and from local vendors. Operate manual and power pallet jacks to load, unload, stack, and unstack various stock items. All stock is rotated to use the oldest inventory first. Moves boxes, crates, and pallets, office furniture as required, or loose items received from trailer deliveries and operates special pallet wrapping machinery. Regulates movement; prevents overloading, improper stacking or movement of supplies and materials. Maintain a log of trips made, noting mileage at start and end of each trip and at gas fill-up time. Completes incident reports whenever involved in an unusual situation, i.e., accident, violation, breakdown, or unusual delays. Secures vehicles, logbook, and keys at the end of each trip. Ensures to maintain Personal Identifiable Information (PII) and agency documents aren't left in the vehicle unsecured. Performs routine car and truck maintenance, i.e., checks the oil, fills vehicles with gas, checks tire pressure, washes, waxes, and cleans inside of vehicles. Receives, unloads, and moves both palletized and non-palletized material from delivery trucks at the loading dock to the warehouse. Assembles purchased items such as furniture, equipment, and machines. Draws material and stock from the warehouse for delivery to machine operators, i.e., boxes of envelopes and computer paper. Moves salvage and sensitive material to storage accumulation area in inventory room and out to dock for final destruction. Verifies salvage is shredded and sensitive PII materials are destroyed completely. Candidate receives all incoming U.S. mail from the USPS prior to distribution to the MCB staff. Receives and signs for any accountable mail from the USPS and returns accounting data to office supervisor or lead. Attends any necessary training courses and receives work assignments directed at developing a thorough knowledge of policies, regulations, SOP's, and work processes. Works and communicates with vendors and customers to provide friendly, polite, and courteous service with a high standard of professional excellence. Qualifications: Valid and continuously retained Class "C" (or equivalent) driver's license. Ability to safely operate pallet jacks and material-handling equipment. Ability to lift and transport materials and pallets as required.
