For more information, visit reyn.org/about-rcs/mission-vision-values.Primary Job FunctionThe Reynoldsburg City Schools' K-12 General Educator serves as a versatile instructional leader dedicated to the academic and social-emotional growth of students across various developmental stages. Whether assigned to Elementary, Middle, or High School levels, the educator is responsible for delivering standards-aligned instruction, fostering an inclusive classroom culture, and utilizing data-informed practices to prepare students for the next level of their educational journey or post-secondary pathways.Minimum QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Education or a content-specific field from an accredited institution.Licensure: Valid Ohio Teaching License appropriate for the assigned grade level (e.g., P-5, 4-9, 7-12, or K-12 Multi-Age).Compliance: Ability to pass Federal (FBI) and State (BCI) background checks. Preferred QualificationsAdvanced Degree: Master's Degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or specific content area.Specialized Training: Experience with "Science of Reading" frameworks (K-5), Project-Based Learning (6-12), or Advanced Placement/CCP (9-12).Bilingualism: Native or near-native fluency in a foreign language for elective positions.Pedagogy: Proven experience in trauma-informed, restorative, and PBIS-centered classroom management. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInstructional Leadership & DeliveryStandards-Aligned Planning: Design and deliver rigorous lessons aligned with Ohio Learning Standards and District Curriculum.Tiered Instruction: Implement Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) by providing explicit Tier 1 instruction and targeted Tier 2 interventions.Subject-Specific Expertise: Apply best practices relevant to the assignment (e.g., Structured Literacy for K-5, CRA sequences for Math, or Engineering Design Cycles for STEM). Student Support & EnvironmentInclusive Culture: Establish a safe, inclusive environment using the RISE (Respect, Integrity, Self-control, Engagement) framework.Whole-Child Development: Integrate Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) and advocate for students' behavioral and mental health needs.Supervision: Monitor students in instructional and non-instructional settings (hallways, cafeteria, arrival/dismissal) to ensure safety and visibility. Assessment & Data ManagementData Analysis: Use diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments (e.g., MAP, Acadience, state testing) to guide instruction and intervention.Reporting: Maintain accurate records in PowerSchool and communicate progress to families via TalkingPoints or newsletters.Compliance: Participate in IEP, 504, and MTSS processes to ensure all learners are accommodated. Professional CollaborationTeamwork: Actively participate in Teacher-Based Teams (TBTs) and Professional Learning Communities (PLCs).Professionalism: Adhere to the Ohio Licensure Code of Professional Conduct and engage in ongoing district professional development. Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of: Child and adolescent development; Ohio Learning Standards; and state/federal education laws (FERPA).Skilled in: Instructional technology, differentiation strategies, and data-driven decision-making.Ability to: Adapt instruction for diverse learners (EL, IEP, 504); foster student independence; and build trusting relationships with stakeholders.
