CDL A - Yard Jockey / Compound Driver

Adirondack Beverages is currently looking for a Yard Jockey for our facility in Scotia, NY. Available shifts are week nights, weekends & weekend nights, 40 hours a week plus overtime as needed. Candidates must meet all DOT regulations. Open to new drivers who've recently completed Driver Training School, as long as you're able to pass a road test but must work in the yard for 5 years before being able to go on the road. Must have clean N.Y CDL A license, be in FMCSA Clearing house and be cleared to work, meet all DOT regulations, 1 year or equivalent experience, be able to work unsupervised and be able to work outside in all weather conditions.Responsibilities:Movement and placement of all drop trailers upon requestShuttling and placement of all shuttle trailersSet Up and retrieve trailers from compound as necessaryProvide daily yard checkCommunicate to the Receiving group who the primary contact will be at the beginning of each shiftTo cover for each other in case of absenceTo assist Lift Drivers when requiredUnderstand and follow Good Manufacturing Practice (GMPs)Must maintain Food Safety Plan Control Points (CPs) using specified control measuresFollow the instructions and directions of your immediate Supervisor and/or Working Foreman. Perform duties in a safe efficient manner according to standard operating procedures (SOPs)Complete all required tasks described in the Training Evaluation Form efficiently, where applicable. Any deficiencies should be reviewed with the Warehouse Shipping Management team.Requirements:Current CDL A LicenseAt least 3 years of logistics experience (passenger vehicle experience will not be considered)Able to read & comprehend production schedules and perform duties required for each item.Able to attend forklift training as needed and obtain a valid forklift licenseAbility to work within a team environmentAble to stand for long periods of time while monitoring equipment or completing required tasksMust frequently use hand(s) for repetitive movement single grasping, pushing/pulling and fine manipulationMust frequently bend, twist, squat, climb & reachMust be able to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs.
