Your Role Are you a passionate, experienced leader who enjoys coaching and developing a team in a customer-focused environment? As an Assistant Manager, you will be based at our San Francisco store and provide support to both the San Francisco and Berkeley Rack Attack locations. You should be comfortable commuting between both stores as needed to support business operations. You will deliver an exceptional customer experience by matching customers with the right products for their needs. You’ll partner closely with the Store Manager to lead, coach, and develop the team while remaining hands-on with installations and day-to-day operations. What You’ll Do Key Responsibilities Safety Ensure all installations are performed safely, accurately, and in accordance with company standards Properly use hand and power tools and ensure team members are trained on safe tool usage Follow safe lifting practices and ensure proper use of equipment when handling up to 50 lbs Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment Enforce safety protocols and immediately address unsafe behaviors or conditions Promote a culture of accountability and workplace safety within the team Team Leadership Supervise, coach, and develop team members to enhance performance and skills Foster open communication and address team concerns professionally Assist in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new employees Lead by example and uphold company values Store Operations Open and close the store following operational and security procedures Oversee cash management, deposits, and register balancing Maintain accurate records including invoices, receipts, and inventory transfers Ensure store cleanliness and visual merchandising standards are met Customer Service Provide consultative sales support to deliver a 5-star customer experience Professionally handle customer calls, inquiries, and concerns Resolve complaints effectively and proactively Monitor feedback and implement improvements Product Installation Install bike racks, storage boxes, hitches, and other outdoor equipment safely and efficiently Ensure installations meet company standards Educate customers on product use and maintenance Troubleshoot installation-related issues Sales & Performance Support sales targets and performance metrics Demonstrate products and recommend add-ons or accessories Collaborate with the team to drive revenue growth Inventory & Technical Support Maintain inventory levels and ensure the sales floor is well stocked Keep tools and installation areas organized Stay informed on new products, promotions, and policies In addition to your base pay, you will be eligible to earn commission and performance-based bonuses tied to realistic and attainable store targets. Our compensation structure is designed to reward both individual contributions and overall store success. The pay range above includes potential commission and bonuses.
