We are seeking an Operations Manager that has experience with trucking, is a self starter, and is willing to perform all necessary functions needed to keep our drivers safe and our equipment on the road.ResponsibilitiesManage Day to Day Trucking OperationsManage Drivers and EquipmentBook freight, dispatch freight, load plan, and schedule driverProvide exceptional service to our Customers, Employees, and VendorsProfessional internal and external communication and interaction with drivers via phone calls, text messages, and emailLead the company safety culture to include daily safety messages, monthly driver briefings, and help enforce company policies to ensure DOT compliance and company requirements are being metMaintain a positive attitude to strengthen driver engagement in order to minimize turnover and improve driver satisfaction and productivityBalance Equipment and Dry Van loads based on customer needs and driver skillsetRecruit and onboard new driversManage ELD Driver's LogsSupport all administrative functions including but not limited to: Payroll, Billing, QuickBooks Data Entry, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, IFTA Tracking and Reporting, Maintenance Files, and DOT Compliance.Verify equipment specifications to ensure load is legal and tractor trailer can handle equipmentLoad monitoring, including resolving any issues that may affect the scheduled times for pickup or delivery, while proactively communicating to the affected customers. These problems typically include truck mechanical problems, traffic or weather issues, or customer directed shipment changesAbility to efficiently assign loads to maximize profitability, customer satisfaction, and driver retention for assigned market areas. This includes monitoring ongoing freight optimization based on current loads in progressMinimize driver detention and down time and manage equipment through effective communication and planning in order to improve operational efficiency and profitabilityBalance and maintain trailer pool inventoryPair trucks that are empty and/or unloading soon with freight needing to be picked up, and confirm dispatch assignments with driversQualificationsExperience working with FMCSA Rules & RegulationsExperienced in Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, and Word)Experience with searching the Internet (Google, Google Maps, World Wide Web) to obtain informationExperience working with computers, tablets, and cell phonesGreat typing skills (40 WPM +)Ability to prioritize and multitaskExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to communicate using email, phone, and textSpanish Bi-lingual is a plusComfortable with Small Business atmosphereThis job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work for this position and is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and/or skills that may be required of a teammate performing this job.J-18808-Ljbffr
