Principal Level Java Backend Software EngineerThe Fidelity Health organization is launching a program to build a product offering to support a new business opportunity. In support of this initiative, the Health Care Group (HCG) Technology team is looking to fill an exciting and complicated role on its development team.As a Principal level Java Backend Software Engineer, you will play a leadership role in envisioning, designing, and building the solution. You will be the technical lead of an Agile team working in a Scaled Agile environment expected to contribute to the technical leadership of the overall program, as well as the center of excellence within the HCG Technology team. This includes:Providing mentoring to the HCG team of developers and tech leads with specific emphasis on sound fundamental development methodologyCollaborating with DevOps and Infrastructure teams to install applications to Azure Cloud PlatformProviding leadership on project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategiesParticipating in the HCG team's effort to improve the efficiency and quality of the entire application development and support processThis position can be based out of the Merrimack, NH, Durham, NC, or Westlake, TX Fidelity offices.The Expertise You HaveBachelor's Degree10+ years of development experience with 3 - 5 years of technical leadership experience at a senior level in an Agile development environmentAgile software development practices and tools, such as JIRA, Git, Maven, and JenkinsObject-oriented analysis and design experienceJava 8 capabilities, lambda, streams, and functional interfacesDeveloping RESTful APIs using Spring BootSpring modules, including IOC, MVC(Rest), BATCH, Spring Boot along with other core components like OAuth2 and securityStrong experience with relational database technologies (Oracle, PostgreSQL or similar RDBMS), preferably Yugabyte or other open-source Cloud native data platformsProven experience working in a Cloud environment using AzureCreating Unit and integration test automation using Junit and spring boot test frameworkDeveloping sophisticated Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline including software configuration management, test automation, version control, static code analysis using (Jenkins, Stash, Ansible, Docker)The Skills You BringYou are a self-starter who thrives in a team-oriented environment and taking new challengesYour communication with peers and leaders is clear and effectiveYou help provide technical leadership, direction, and mentoringYou are willing and excited to add your voice and opinion to the discussionYou love to take initiative to address problems and get the job doneThe Value You DeliverLeading the team in technical guidance and mentoring junior team members.Coordinating and leading research into innovative technologies independently, as part of a team and with the Architecture team to make judgement and recommendations for future releases.Contributing to a team environment by actively participating in peer evaluations, code reviews, design reviews and being available to help others when needed.Providing and taking leadership in taking business requirements and translate them into detailed designs, consider the best strategy to ensure design meets performance, security, usability, and reliability and scalability requirements.
