QA Engineer

Contact Details: QA Engineer Chicago, IL contact@valdigroup.com (312) 834-4708 Additional Information: As a QA Associate you will be working closely with the business analysts, developers and members of QA team in highly dynamic Agile environment. You will be responsible for performing manual and mobile testing; creating and executing test cases and scenarios derived from user stories, acceptance criteria’s, product requirements and design specifications. Responsibilities Develop proficiency in the applications and use of systems, tools, and processes within the department's scope Organize workload to meet deadlines as assigned by the team leadership. Ensures the team leadership is informed of schedules and timelines, statuses, issues, mitigations and all other information necessary or requested Write detailed test plans, test cases and test scenarios as well as perform product validation, verification and test execution Document defects, generate status reports, bug reports and present them at daily and weekly status meetings using defined reporting process Investigation and root cause analysis of software and system defect Take a leading role in testing of ’s Interactive Voice Response (IVR) Systems Execute testing of company’s mobile applications on various platforms including Android, iOS, and Windows Phone Participate in Iteration planning meetings and user stories estimation meetings Work in collaboration with, and support the needs of other team members on the project About You BS in Computer Science or equivalent technical training or professional work experience 2+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance Understanding of SDLC and STLC concepts is a must Familiarity with project and defect management systems like Jira, Bugzilla and Basecamp Experience with proper quality assurance techniques, documentation, and the ability to communicate results to both technical and non-technical audiences Skill in diagnosing and solving complex problems and providing detailed technical analysis Experience reporting testing results in a clear, detailed, and analytical style Experience testing products with the following technology stack: HTML5, CSS3, Mobile Web Applications, Java, JavaScript, XML, Web Services, Adobe Flash Knowledge of Spanish is a strong plus Understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL) and relational database structures is a strong plus Understanding of Release Management and System Integration preferred Strong oral and written communication skills. Experience working in Agile software environment is a plus
