Nursing care is provided in accordance with the stated philosophy and standards established by the Nursing Service Department, regulatory agencies and professional organizations. The Registered Nurse is accountable for the safety of nursing care they deliver or supervise. The Registered Nurse is responsible to the patient and the family or significant others for the quality of direct and indirect nursing care delivered. Line responsibility to the Director, Obstetrical Nursing or designee.Key Responsibilities:Assure the safety of the patient population served by demonstrating age-appropriate skills in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing careDevelop, implement, evaluate and modify plans of nursing care for patients and familiesManage, direct, and supervise the practice of nursing, including the delegation of selected activities to unlicensed assistive personnel within scope of practiceAttend appropriate in-service and continuing education programs commensurate with job responsibilitiesParticipate in unit/hospital projects that seek to improve patient careRepresent the organization in a professional manner in interactions with othersMaintain communication with interdisciplinary practitioners to meet care objectivesProvide patient/family teaching as appropriateCoordinate activities of multiple disciplines to meet plan of careDocument plan findings and evaluation according to policyAssume responsibility for attendance according to policyMeet requirements for mandatory in-services and programs for safety, emergency and competencySupport the development of staff through mentoring, preceptorship and collegialityPerform job functions specific to areaProvide coverage for Mother/Baby unit and Labor and DeliveryRequired Experience:2 years of previous experience in special care nursing of newborns2 years travel experience requiredPostpartum/couplet care experience in addition to NNICU (Level II)Delivery attendance experienceEducation Requirements:Currently licensed to practice professional nursing in Massachusetts requiredBLS Healthcare Provider requiredNRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) requiredAbout GTT: GTT is a minority-owned staffing firm and a subsidiary of Chenega Corporation, a Native American-owned company in Alaska.
