DescriptionCorrections Officers shall be responsible for providing security, care, custody & control of inmates at the Taney County Jail. The Corrections Officer may be assigned to different posts, areas and/or shifts, depending on operational needs. Open communication with supervisor is key for this positionResponsibilitiesProcess inmates into and release inmates from jailMove inmates between cellsInspect inmate cells for unauthorized goodsMaintain various jail records, logs, and write daily reportsDetect and recognize potential hazards in the facility for the safety of inmatesInteract and communicate effectively with inmates and staff to maintain order in the facilityUse sound judgment, self-control, and common sense to quickly de-escalate hostile situations when they ariseQualificationsQualifications and SkillsMust be available to work any shift, day or night, including holidaysHigh School Diploma or GEDMust be at least 21 years of ageWorking knowledge of computer hardware, software & accessoriesKnowledgeable of rules, regulations & State Statutes regarding housing of inmatesAbility to keep accurate records & create detailed reportsSALARY: $19.26 per hour + BenefitsSTATUS: Full Time, 40 hours per weekTaney County is a substance free, Equal Employment Opportunity Employer (EEOE).
