Regional EHS Manager, Amazon Pharmacy Safety

DescriptionOur team is seeking a Regional WHS Manager who will support the Pharmacy operations. This role is responsible to provide technical support, tactical execution, and deliver a strategy for future expansion in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for partnering with Pharmacy operations team and the Global WHS team to execute company environmental procedures and ensure compliance with all applicable Local, State and Federal regulations. Utilizing risk assessments and compliance evaluations, this individual will lead continuous improvement initiatives to minimize environmental aspects and impacts and communicate and implement best practices. You must be an effective communicator and send clear, concise and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing. You must possess proficiency in program and environmental regulatory knowledge and demonstrate this expertise when working with teams throughout the US Operations. You will need to thrive and deliver a strategy for execution across multiple businesses in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment, supported by your leadership team. People trust and respect you and they like to work with you.Key job responsibilities Possess a good understanding of local, state and federal regulations and company policy Monitor and provide guidance on site performance against applicable EHS regulations, programs and Amazon global policies Ensure site leadership and Associates are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each policy. Audit the quality, delivery (including qualifications of the trainer), and effectiveness of all required safety training. Provide strategic WHS support and regulatory review for future business growth and expansion Partner with operations support team and technology development in supporting the change management process Measure and analyze sites’ performance against published requirements in environmental, health and safety policies. For all deficiencies, identify a plan for the site to implement and fix all identified deficiencies Lead implementation of the Amazon WHS programs Build collaborative relationships with various stakeholders to ensure risks are identified early and managed in a timely manner Conduct environmental, health and safety risk assessments and audits as necessary Ensure accuracy of WHS recordkeeping and data integrity for Pharmacy sites and provides operations with accurate reporting and metrics to support business WHS initiatives. Ensure compliance calendar regulatory requirements and Amazon program tasks are current Assist sites with action plan development for any deficiencies noted from trends, audits and inspections Facilitate root cause analyses for all environmental, health and safety incidents and recommend appropriate corrective actions for network implementation Show initiative to identify and implement corrective actions to eliminate any observed non-compliance or potential non-compliance situations Measure the overall Pharmacy business and sites’ performance against published requirement in WHS policies. For all deficiencies, identify a plan for the site to implement and fix all identified deficiencies. Ensure site leadership and Associate are trained of their responsibilities under each policy. Audit the quality, delivery, and effectiveness of all required WHS training. Manage and mentor site WHS Specialist in their respective region Regular visit to monitor at their sites and seek inputs from site WHS team, associates, and leaders on WHS program improvement opportunities. Ensure open communication on status of progress and resolution against these suggestions. Analyze WHS metrics and project initiatives and report out during weekly and monthly business review. Communicate with the leadership team for any incident trend and allocate appropriate resource to mitigate the risk. Partner with WW WHS team and other BU WHS leaders to leverage global WHS best practices into Pharmacy network standards.A day in the lifeA day in the lifeThe Regional Safety Manager will ensure their network of pharmaceutical locations and teams are set up for success, They will lead daily conversations with operations managers, engineers, and pharmacists to address safety concerns and create risk assessments to correct any equipment or process deficiencies that may injury associates or patient safety. They insist on the highest safety standards at all times and never settle for industry status quo... they are team that will only strive for world class safety results and industry leading processes.Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree 5+ years of increasing responsibilities in EHS and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations 5+ years of increasing responsibilities in people and performance management Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environmentPreferred Qualifications Distribution Center or Manufacturing WHS experience with mix of exempt and non-exempt employees at a site of at least 250 people Master’s degree Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment. Experience in a fast paced, dynamic organization. Certified Safety Professional Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with site leaders.
