With multiple locations across the United States, NPS makes towel and tissue products for the Away from Home markets in addition to specialty packaging material (both protective and insulating) for a broad assortment of retailers and customers.Job OverviewThis individual will be responsible for operating and ensuring the machine is running at its optimum level both safely and efficiently. This position will monitor all physical characteristics, monitor specific tests and results, and take corrective actions as necessary to ensure quality material is being manufactured with low waste.Primary Responsibilities Have the physical ability to perform manual labor; climb; bend, etc.Have a good work, safety, performance, and attendance recordSet up machines and make necessary changes to ensure quality material is producedPerform quality control tests on all materials manufacturedPerform roll changes, thread the machine, trouble shoot, make diameter, perforation cut, tension, and log saw adjustmentsResponsible for cleaning the machine and work area creating a clean and safe working environmentAccurately complete daily production reports, and other miscellaneous paperworkFix runnability problems: Perform diameter and perforation adjustments, correct tension problems, and any other machine problems or adjustments as they ariseLog Saw adjustments: Understand the correct way to set grind stones, change and grind log saw blade, set roll clamps, and set program screenRoll changes: Put on correct parent rolls of paper as needed, cutting down finished cores. Splicing the roll of paper into the web and/or threading the machineGreasing and oiling: Lubricate machines daily, making sure oiler is full and all times and that the machine is greasedConstant standing, walk and use of hands and fingers and frequent talking and hearingFrequently lift and carry up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and carry up to 100 poundsResponsible for all other tasks as assignedRequired Experience Prior machine operating experience preferredMust be mechanically inclinedPowered by JazzHR
