This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference - partnering closely with a dedicated Board, a team of part-time staff and volunteers, and a community that relies on CRRC for connection, support, and belonging.About Community Roots Resource CenterCRRC is a family resource centre in Northeast Winnipeg, serving newcomer, Indigenous and other individuals in the surrounding area. Through programs focused on food security, health, and community connection - including children and adult programming, a community garden, kitchen, and emergency food pantry -CRRC supports the physical, emotional, and social well-being of those in our community.About the RoleAs Executive Director, you are responsible for the overall leadership of CRRC, ensuring strong programs, a connected community, and sustainable operations.This is a hands-on leadership role in a small and growing organization, where you'll balance strategic leadership with regular, direct involvement in programs, people, and day-to-day operations. This is a 0.75FTE (approximately 4 days/week) role, offering flexibility within a community-focused environment.What You'll DoCommunity Leadership & EngagementBuild strong, trusted relationships with community members, families, and partnersFoster a welcoming, inclusive environment where people feel supported and connectedAct as an advocate for the community, working with schools, agencies, and service providersPrograms & ServicesIdentifyemerging community needs and shape programs and events in responseOversee the planning, delivery, and evaluation of programs and community initiatives.This includes stayingclosely connectedto program delivery and being directly involved in supporting programs alongside staff and volunteersLead, support, and mentor part-time staff, facilitators, and volunteersFoster a positive, collaborative team environmentOversee recruitment, training, and performance developmentFunding, Partnerships & AdvocacyBuild andmaintainrelationships with funders, donors, and community partnersLead or support grant applications and funding proposalsRepresent CRRC in the community, increasing awareness and support for our workDevelop and manage the annual budget in collaboration with the Treasurer and BoardOversee financial tracking, program budgets, and reportingEnsure effective day-to-day operations, systems, and processesEnsure compliance with applicable legislation and policiesBoard & GovernanceWork closely with the Board of Directors to support governance and strategic planningProvide regular updates on programs, finances, and community needsSupport the Board in advancing CRRC's long-term visionWhat You BringExperience in nonprofit, community-based, or social services leadership(minimum5+yearsor equivalent experience)Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to connect with people from diverse backgroundsComfort working in a hands-on environment, balancing strategy with day-to-day involvementExperience with budgeting, funding,andgrant processesA collaborative, adaptableapproachand sound judgmentA genuine commitment to supporting the community and helping CRRC meet the evolving needs of those we serveWhy This Role MattersCRRC plays a vital role in our community—providing programs, support, and a sense of belonging for those who need it most.
