Our teams are empowered to grow, contribute, and make a meaningful impact through the projects we deliver.About Your RoleCMTS is seeking an experienced Project Scheduler to support aviation, transportation, and public infrastructure capital improvement projects throughout the Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) Region. This role will be responsible for developing, maintaining, monitoring, and analyzing project schedules to support successful project delivery across multiple capital improvement initiatives.The Project Scheduler will work closely with project managers, construction managers, contractors, consultants, and project controls teams to help ensure project schedules accurately reflect project scope, sequencing, milestones, operational constraints, and contractual obligations. The ideal candidate will possess strong scheduling, analytical, and coordination skills with experience supporting complex infrastructure or public sector construction projects.Projects may include airport terminal renovations, roadway improvements, transportation infrastructure, utility upgrades, transit facilities, vertical construction, tenant improvements, and other public sector capital improvement programs.Education RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, Architecture, or related field preferredor An equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant scheduling experienceWhat You’ll Need to Get the Job Done 4–10 years of scheduling experience supporting aviation, transportation, infrastructure, or public sector construction projects Strong knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling principles and construction scheduling methodologies Experience developing and maintaining baseline schedules, construction schedules, recovery schedules, and milestone schedules Experience reviewing contractor schedule submissions, updates, and schedule narratives Strong understanding of construction sequencing, procurement timelines, phasing plans, and project delivery methods Ability to analyze schedule performance and identify schedule risks, delays, and critical path impacts Experience supporting projects within active operational environments preferred Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare reports, schedule narratives, and executive summaries Ability to manage multiple schedules and priorities simultaneously Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6 preferred Experience with Microsoft Project and project controls reporting tools preferred Ability to travel throughout Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia project locations as required What Will Make You Stand OutCertifications / Licenses PSP (Planning and Scheduling Professional) preferred PMP (Project Management Professional) preferred CCM (Certified Construction Manager) preferred Aviation or transportation infrastructure scheduling experience strongly preferred Software Primavera P6 Microsoft Project Power BI Procore e-Builder Microsoft 365 What You’ll Do Develop, maintain, and update project schedules for aviation, transportation, and infrastructure capital improvement projects Prepare baseline schedules, look-ahead schedules, milestone schedules, and recovery schedules to support project execution and delivery objectives Monitor project progress and analyze schedule performance against approved baseline schedules and contractual milestones Review contractor schedules, monthly updates, schedule narratives, and supporting documentation for accuracy, logic, sequencing, and compliance Identify schedule variances, delays, critical path impacts, and operational conflicts while recommending mitigation and recovery strategies Coordinate scheduling activities with project managers, construction managers, contractors, consultants, and client representatives Support project controls activities including forecasting, progress tracking, change management, and performance reporting Prepare schedule reports, dashboards, executive summaries, look-ahead reports, and schedule analytics for project leadership and client review Participate in project meetings, progress meetings, schedule review sessions, and stakeholder coordination meetings Analyze construction sequencing, procurement activities, phasing plans, and operational constraints to support efficient project delivery Maintain schedule documentation, logs, assumptions, updates, and historical records in accordance with project standards and reporting requirements Assist with evaluation of contractor claims, schedule impacts, and change order requests associated with project scheduling activities Support implementation of scheduling standards, project controls procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives Collaborate with project teams to support overall project execution, reporting accuracy, and operational excellence Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders Salary RangeCommensurate on ExperienceCMTS offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid time off, retirement plans, professional development opportunities, and career advancement pathways.Equal Employment OpportunityCMTS, LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer and considers all applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other protected status in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
