Our mission is to promote independence, dignity, and quality of life through compassionate, consistent care.Position SummaryThe Pediatric Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides one-on-one support to a child in a home and community setting. This role focuses on maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive environment while assisting with daily routines, development, and behavior support.This position requires consistency, patience, and the ability to follow individualized care plans while working closely with the family and care team.Key ResponsibilitiesDirect Care & SupportProvide one-on-one support tailored to the child's developmental and emotional needsAssist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): hygiene, dressing, mealsSupport structured routines, learning, and playEncourage positive behavior and social developmentFollow the Individual Service Plan (ISP) and any behavior support strategiesCare & SupervisionEnsure a safe, attentive, and structured environment at all timesProvide appropriate supervision based on the child's needsAssist with transitions (home routines, activities, community outings if applicable)Health & SafetyFollow all care plans and safety protocolsMonitor for changes in behavior or condition and report concerns promptlyDocumentation & ComplianceComplete daily service notes and required documentationReport incidents or concerns in a timely mannerFollow all company policies and proceduresRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or GEDExperience working with children preferredStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to follow structured routines and care plansValid driver's license, insurance, and reliable transportationAbility to pass background checksCPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)Preferred QualificationsExperience working with developmental disabilitiesExperience with behavioral support strategiesExperience in home-based or pediatric care settingsSchedulePart-Time or PRN opportunities availableFlexible scheduling based on client needsEvening, weekend, or after-school availability may be requiredWhy Work With Safe HavenFlexible schedulingMeaningful, purpose-driven workOpportunity to make a direct impact in a child's lifeSupportive team environmentImportant NoteThis role requires patience, consistency, and reliability.
