Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Project Engineer to lead and manage complex test projects across mechanical, aerospace, electrical, and fiber optic systems. You will work directly with customers and internal teams to plan, execute, and deliver projects safely, accurately, and on time.
Responsibilities
Manage test projects from start to finish including planning, scheduling, execution, and reporting
Act as the main point of contact for customers throughout the project
Review customer test plans, requirements, and technical documents
Develop test plans, procedures, and work instructions
Coordinate with lab teams to set up and run tests
Design and manage test setups including equipment, instrumentation, and fixtures
Monitor project scope and timelines and communicate any changes
Source materials, vendors, and services as needed
Analyze test data for accuracy and compliance
Prepare clear and detailed test reports
Ensure all work meets safety standards and industry requirements
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to solve technical problems
Manage multiple projects across different engineering disciplines
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field
3+ years of experience in engineering or test engineering
Experience working in a lab or test environment
Knowledge of environmental testing such as thermal, vibration, shock, pressure, electrical, or optical testing
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and standards
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project tools
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Organized and detail-oriented
U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required
Ability to obtain ATF approval as an Employee Possessor
Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar CAD software
Experience testing mechanical, electrical, or fiber optic systems
Experience in aerospace, EV, satellite, or similar technologies
Experience working in customer-facing engineering or project roles
Work Environment
Hands-on work in a large test lab environment
Exposure to advanced projects including rocket engines, satellites, EV batteries, and space hardware
Fast-paced setting requiring attention to detail and safety

Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Oxnard, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
We are currently seeking Project Engineers to serve as the primary technical and program interface between Experior Laboratories and our customers. Project Engineers are principally responsible for the accurate and on-time execution of test projects in accordance with contractual requirements. Our tests span various engineering fields including mechanical, electrical, fiber optic, and aerospace.
