This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, collaborates well with others, and excels at solving mechanical problems. Our Millwrights contribute to reliable, high-quality operations through strong teamwork and attentive execution.Key ResponsibilitiesRegularly review and assess production, safety practices, and quality processesProvide day-to-day maintenance support and troubleshooting for machinery and production lines, including proper documentation of all workCarry out preventive maintenance tasks and diagnostic activities on mill equipment and machineryMaintain detailed records, reports, and parts inventories related to maintenance activitiesCommunicate proactively with all departments to ensure equipment and systems operate efficientlyWork closely with machine operators to help enhance equipment performanceDemonstrate and uphold all workplace safety standards and regulatory requirementsHelp educate both maintenance and operations personnel on evolving safety and maintenance practicesRecommend new techniques, improvements, or best practices to strengthen continuous improvement effortsTest equipment performance, identify areas for enhancement, and suggest modificationsInstall, maintain, repair, upgrade, and troubleshoot mill machinery, systems, and supporting equipmentQualificationsAt least 5 years of experience in maintaining industrial equipment; sawmill experience is a plusStrong understanding of mechanical systems typically found in sawmill environments (conveyors, saws, kilns, debarkers, etc.)Ability to read and interpret mechanical schematics and blueprintsProficiency in welding and equipment fabrication for repairs or modificationsStrong analytical skills for diagnosing mechanical issues quickly and accuratelyAbility to develop and apply effective solutions that reduce downtime and support production goalsKnowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems used in mill equipment, with the ability to maintain and troubleshoot themBasic knowledge of electrical components related to industrial machinery, along with commitment to electrical safety and ability to collaborate with electriciansExperience implementing preventative maintenance programs to improve equipment reliabilityConsistent adherence to safety procedures and industry requirements to maintain a safe work environmentSolid communication skills for coordinating with team members, supervisors, and other departmentsCollaborative mindset with a willingness to support and mentor less experienced team membersAdaptability to shifting priorities and comfort working in a fast-paced environment, including occasional non-standard or weekend hours as neededStrong written and verbal communication abilitiesHighly motivated team player with a safety-first mindsetAbility to lift up to 50 lbs., climb stairs, and move equipment when requiredValid driver's licenseStarting base pay (before shift diffs, OT, and other forms of additional compensation) $38.25 to $44.50/hrInterested in hearing more?
