Electrical Design Engineer

We are seeking a talented Electrical Design Engineer to contribute to the development of electrical power and control systems for industrial thermal processing equipment. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide technical guidance, and ensure compliance with industry standards, all while leveraging your proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and relay-based logic. You will play a crucial role in enhancing our electrical engineering capabilities through improved standards, tools, and processes. Responsibilities Design and develop electrical power and control systems that meet applicable codes, standards, and customer specifications. Generate electrical schematics, panel layouts, and bills of materials (BOMs) to facilitate manufacturing and procurement processes. Support the design of relay-based control systems, with opportunities to work on PLC and HMI applications. Develop retrofit packages and electrical modifications based on customer and field requirements to enhance equipment performance. Ensure adherence to NEC, UL, and internal engineering standards to maintain safety and quality. Provide technical support and documentation to manufacturing, service, and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations. Create operating instructions, configuration records, and other technical documentation to support equipment operation and maintenance. Participate in installation, startup, testing, and troubleshooting activities to ensure equipment reliability. Qualifications Required Skills Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. 8+ years of experience in electrical design for industrial equipment or related systems. Solid understanding of power and control system design principles. Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat. Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Preferred Skills Experience with relay-based logic and industrial control systems; familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, and instrumentation. Working knowledge of NEC, UL, and related standards. Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners. A continuous improvement mindset focused on optimizing engineering processes. Demonstrated leadership potential with the ability to take on increasing responsibilities.
