Exchange Student Liaison (Cultural Connector & Support Champion!)

About the Role:Love meeting new people, learning about different cultures, and making a real impact? This role is all about connection. As an Exchange Student Liaison, you'll be the friendly, reliable point person who helps international students and host families have an amazing experience together. You'll check in regularly, help navigate challenges, celebrate wins, and play a key role in building meaningful cross-cultural relationships.What You'll Be Doing:Visit your host student and host family each month (in-person and over calls) and keep simple records of your check-insStay in touch with the student's school:3 times per year for full-year students2 times per year for semester studentsBe a go-to source of support, encouragement, and helpful information for students, families, and schoolsStep in as a calm, friendly mediator if bumps in the road come up—helping everyone feel heard and understoodKeep the broader support team in the loop on how things are going (the good, the tricky, and everything in between)Who You Are:A great listener who enjoys building relationshipsCurious about other cultures and excited to help others learnComfortable having honest conversations when neededReliable, approachable, and positiveBonus Points If You Have:Experience mentoring, volunteering, or working with teensA background in education, counseling, or intercultural programsPrevious involvement with exchange students or host familiesWhy It's Worth It:You're not just volunteering—you're helping someone feel at home in a new country, supporting families as they open their doors, and creating connections that can last a lifetime.
