Position DescriptionPiedmont Augusta is currently hiring a Surgical Oncologist to supportourrapidly growing and evolving Oncology program at ourAugusta, GA campus.We seek an individual with special interest and experience in diseases of thyroid, sarcoma and melanoma.This opportunity will allow the candidate to join an established surgical oncology practiceand work with the team leading cancer care in the region.The role requires a physician who is highly skilled with extensive training to perform complex surgical procedures, collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, and provide compassionate care to patients and their families.Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited ToResponsible for diagnosing, treating and managing cancer patients through surgical intervention.Perform complex surgical procedures to remove tumors and affected tissue.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive treatment plans.Perform hospital rounds on inpatients to include surgical floor and intensive care unitsProvide postoperative care, monitor patient recovery, and manage complications.Maintain accurate patient records and comply with hospital policy.Perform H&Ps, consults, and write progress notes on inpatientsEducate patient and families about diagnoses, treatments, and expected outcomes.Participate in appropriate tumor boards and research opportunities.Communicate patient condition changes to physician colleagues in order to coordinate care based on best practice.Available to answer emergent calls for inpatient and outpatient concerns.Piedmont OffersHighly Competitive Salary and wRVU-based incentivesSign on BonusEducation Loan Assistance & Stipend for 18 months prior to start dateComprehensive Benefits401K with employer contributionEpic EMRQuality, Service, and ReputationPiedmont Healthcare is a top-rated system with award winning hospitals and employees comprised of 23 hospitals and facilities, more than 2,500 physicians, and over 1600 clinic practice locations Georgia.
