Salary: $20-27/hourMetko, Inc., a local leader and family-owned business in the custom metal and tank fabrication industry is seeking to directly hire a full-time CNC Laser Operator for both a 2nd shift and 3rd shift opening in its New Holstein, WI, facility.2nd shift hours are from 2:30 PM to 120:30 PM Monday through Friday. 3rd shift hours are from 10:30 PM to 6:30 AM starting Sunday evening and running through Friday morning. Training for the position could tentatively take place during 1st shift hours (6:30 AM to 2:30 PM Monday through Friday) or 2nd shift hours (2:30 PM through 10:30 PM Monday through Friday).*** PLEASE NOTE: WE IDEALLY SEEK PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE AS A LASER OPERATOR, BUT WE WILL ALSO CONSIDER CNC MACHINE OPERATORS THAT CAN BE TRAINED ON LASERS THAT HAVE PRIOR EXPERIENCE ON OTHER TYPES OF CNC MACHINERY. ***ALL APPLICANTS SHOULD HAVE A STABLE WORK HISTORY, A PROVEN WORK ATTENDANCE RECORD, BE MECHANICALLY-INCLINED AND POSSESS GOOD PHYSICAL DEXTERITY.Starting pay will be commensurate with experience.DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:Operation of CNC Laser machineryProduce quality metal fabricated parts to print using allotted times and standardsConducting basic quality inspections of materialUse precision measuring equipment for quality assurance of parts (calipers, micrometers and/or tape measures)Follow instructions on work ordersKeep work area neat and organizedComplete documentation as requiredREQUIREMENTS:Prefer 1+ year of previous Laser Operator experience and/or 1+ year of Machine Operator experience on other types of CNC machineryPrevious experience with sheet metal is desired but not requiredAbility to work in a faster-paced settingReliable, self-motivated, team-oriented, and adept communication skillsDetail-oriented with ability to inspect material for quality conformance through the use of measuring devices (tape measures, calipers, micrometers) and blueprint drawingsMechanically-inclined and production-orientedAbility to read manufacturing blueprints is requiredComputer literacy is requiredStrong problem-solving skillsBasic math skills
