Salary is 100k to 135kOverview:Seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer to support and enhance financial applications running in an IBM VSE/ESA environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in COBOL, CICS, MQ-Series, VSAM, and related tools, and will be responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and designing programs and utilities to support business needs.Key Responsibilities:Develop, maintain, and enhance applications and utilities within the IBM VSE/ESA environment.Design and implement new programs and batch processes to support financial operations.Analyze and troubleshoot existing code and batch processes to ensure optimal performance and reliability.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and translate them into technical solutions.Perform data management and processing using VSAM and related database structures.Utilize MQ-Series and CICS to support messaging, transaction, and batch processing.Ensure adherence to coding standards, documentation, and quality assurance processes.Required Skills and Technology:IBM VSE/ESA platform knowledge (DOS-based mainframe systems)Strong COBOL programming expertiseExperience with CICS and batch processingFamiliarity with VSAM and EasyTrieveWorking knowledge of MQ-Series messagingUnderstanding of financial applications and related business processes
