Assistant General Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant General Manager to oversee daily operations within a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of food preparation, restaurant management, and customer service. This role involves supporting the General Manager in managing staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining exceptional guest experiences across casual dining, quick service, or fine dining settings. The Assistant General Manager will play a vital role in team development, inventory control, and operational excellence to ensure the success of our restaurant.
Responsibilities
Assist in managing daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth workflow and high-quality service
Supervise and train staff on food preparation, POS system (Toast POS), food handling, and customer service protocols
Oversee food safety standards and ensure compliance with health regulations
Manage inventory control, ordering supplies, and monitoring stock levels to minimize waste
Handle cash management duties including cash handling and balancing registers
Support shift management by coordinating schedules and ensuring adequate staffing levels
Lead staff training and development initiatives to promote team growth and operational efficiency
Assist in budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting activities
Ensure customer satisfaction through excellent service delivery and prompt resolution of issues
Participate in interviewing and hiring new team members to build a competent workforce
Collaborate with kitchen management for food production, culinary standards, and catering events
Support special events such as banquets or hotel functions when required
Uphold brand standards in hospitality, food presentation, and overall guest experience
Experience
Proven management experience within the food industry, ideally in casual dining, fine dining, or quick service restaurants
Extensive background in food preparation, kitchen management, and hospitality management
Experience with POS systems such as Toast or Square is preferred
Demonstrated leadership skills with supervising teams and staff training expertise
Familiarity with inventory control, budgeting, food safety regulations, and food handling procedures
Prior experience in restaurant management or assistant manager roles is highly desirable
Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills
Ability to manage shift operations efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
