Cad Engineer

TFX is looking for a highly skilled CAD designer/engineer to join our team. This role is for someone who is truly strong in CAD—not just basic part modeling, but advanced surface modeling, complex geometry, and designing with real-world manufacturing in mind.We build a wide range of custom projects, so the right person needs to be extremely capable in CAD and comfortable working through challenging design problems. This is a hands-on, fast-moving environment where designs need to look right, function correctly, and actually be buildable.What We're Looking For:Very strong CAD skills, especially surface modeling and complex part designExperience with multiple CAD platforms and the ability to learn new ones quicklyStrong understanding of how parts, assemblies, and products are actually manufactured and assembledAbility to turn rough ideas, sketches, or concepts into clean, accurate, production-ready modelsGood design judgment around fit, finish, tolerances, and practicalityComfortable working on a wide variety of projects rather than the same thing every dayStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailAble to work quickly without sacrificing qualityResponsibilities:Strong proficiency in one or more professional CAD programsAdvanced experience with surface modeling, complex geometry, and detailed part/assembly designSolid understanding of real-world manufacturing methods, materials, and assembly constraintsAbility to create accurate, organized, and production-ready CAD dataExperience working from rough concepts, reference images, sketches, or incomplete informationStrong grasp of fitment, tolerances, clearances, and practical design executionAbility to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong problem-solving ability and close attention to detailGood communication skills and ability to work closely with fabrication and leadership teamsSelf-motivated, efficient, and able to work with minimal hand-holdingQualifications:Create high-quality CAD models, assemblies, and design packages for a wide variety of projectsDevelop complex surface models and production-ready geometry based on project needsTranslate concepts, sketches, and verbal direction into clean, buildable designsReview designs for manufacturability, fit, function, and overall practicalityWork closely with the shop and project teams to ensure designs are realistic and executableRevise and improve designs as projects develop, including solving issues that come up during buildPrepare files, drawings, and related CAD data needed for manufacturing and internal useMaintain organized and accurate CAD files, assemblies, and revision controlHelp identify smarter, faster, and better ways to design parts and assembliesSupport a wide range of custom projects that may vary significantly in type, scale, and complexityAbout Company:TFX is a composite design and manufacturing company serving major aerospace and themed-entertainment clients, including Anduril, Lockheed, and Disney.
