Controls Engineer

About the Company Hiring: Our client is a growing manufacturing organization located in Buffalo, NYAbout the Job: We are seeking a hands-on Controls Engineer to support daily operations, maintenance, and process improvements at our clients manufacturing facility. This role is ideal for someone experienced in controls troubleshooting, PLC/HMI programming, and automation upgrades who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Key responsibilities include:· Troubleshoot and maintain controls, PLCs, sensors, VFDs, and processing/packaging equipment.· Lead root cause analysis and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.· Support system upgrades, PLC logic modifications, HMI development, and hardware retrofits.· Document troubleshooting guides, schematics, and SOPs.· Collaborate with operations and engineering to drive continuous improvement, safety, and compliance.· Train operators and maintenance staff on updated systems.Minimum Requirements:Associate’s degree or technical certification in Electrical/Automation field.5+ years of controls troubleshooting in manufacturing (packaging/material handling preferred).Proficiency in PLCs (Allen-Bradley/Siemens) and HMIs (FactoryTalk preferred).Knowledge of industrial networks, safety circuits, and control panels.Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.Experience with robotics, high-speed packaging, fiber processing, or dust control systems is preferred.· Must be willing to travel to support new plants as needed.Compensation: $110,000-$135,000Job Status: Direct hire, onsite in Buffalo, NY
