At Bob Steele Salon, our Stylist Internship Program is designed to bridge the gap between school and a successful, long-term career. If you're within 3 months of graduating-or just finished-you could be a perfect fit. You'll start as a pre-intern and will be in that role for at least six weeks. If selected to join our intern program you'll be well on your way to becoming a successful stylist. What You'll Gain$10/hr while in the pre-internship and internship$11/hr once assisting on the salon floorHands-on training from seasoned stylistsOngoing Monday classes + real-time salon learningPath to become a commission-based stylist (plus tips) Your Responsibilities As a Stylist Intern, you'll support service providers while learning directly through observation, education, and experience. Client Support:Greet and assist clients throughout their serviceProvide relaxing scalp massages (excluding color services)Shampoo and condition hair, explaining product choicesDetangle and escort clients to stylist chairs Color Assistance:Ensure clients are properly smocked for chemical servicesClean any color residue from the skin post-applicationRecord all color formulas accurately in client profiles Salon Operations:Maintain clean shampoo bowls, mirrors, and stylist stationsLaunder and store towels, smocks, and capesSweep floors and keep dressing rooms and bathrooms tidySterilize tools and restock inventory as neededComplete daily checklists and assist with salon upkeep Education: (for those selected for the intern program)Attend weekly training classes with passing performanceDemonstrate reliability, professionalism, and a desire to growExcessive absenteeism may result in removal from the program What We're Looking ForMust be within 3 months of completing cosmetology school or a recent graduateStrong communication and customer service skillsPositive attitude and willingness to take initiativeAbility to work a flexible schedule-including evenings, weekends, and holidaysTeam player who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced settingAt least 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the U.S. Employee Perks & Benefits401(k) with company matchRetail product discountsComplimentary hair servicesContinuing education & education reimbursementHealth, dental, and vision insurance (for full-time employees)Employer-paid $15K life insurance (for full-time employees)Exposure to premium brands: Aveda, Redken, Oribe, Pureology, & more Why Bob Steele Salon?
