NOTE: This is NOT an IT support, help desk, networking, or office-based computer position. This is a hands-on commercial construction role working in active construction environments. We are seeking field technicians and tradespeople who are comfortable performing physical labor and working on construction jobsites daily.Traveling High-Count Ribbon Fiber SplicerJob SummaryFlex Tech is seeking experienced High-Count Ribbon Fiber Splicers for specialized data center fiber projects. This is an advanced, hands-on field position requiring proven experience with large-count fiber, ribbon splicing, spider-web/rollable-ribbon fiber, fusion splicing, and fiber testing.Candidates must be willing and able to travel for assignments lasting up to three weeks at a time. This is not an entry-level fiber technician position.Required Scope of WorkQualified candidates must be capable of performing the following:Prep and handle 288-count fiberPrep and handle 6,912-count fiberWork with other large-count fiber, including 864-count, 1,728-count, and 3,456-countSplice 12-count ribbon fiberSplice 16-count ribbon fiberPerform pitch conversionWork with spider-web and rollable-ribbon fiberRibbonize individual single-strand fibersPerform fusion splicingConduct OTDR testing and troubleshootingConduct OLTS testingTest and troubleshoot MPO connectorsTest and troubleshoot LC connectorsComplete high-count fiber work in active data center environmentsMaintain accurate labeling, documentation, and fiber organizationFollow all project-specific safety and quality-control proceduresMinimum Experience RequirementsCandidates must have:At least two years of ribbon-splicing experienceAt least one year of spider-web or rollable-ribbon splicing experienceAt least one year of experience prepping and handling large-count fiberAt least one year of OTDR testing experienceAt least one year of OLTS testing experienceHands-on experience with high-count fiber in data center environmentsAbility to pass a required background checkAbility to pass a required drug screeningAbility and willingness to travel for up to three weeks at a timeReliable transportation while on assignmentStrong attention to detail and commitment to safety and qualityPreferred QualificationsExperience with 288-count, 864-count, 1,728-count, 3,456-count, or 6,912-count fiberExperience performing pitch conversionsExperience ribbonizing single-strand fiberExperience testing and troubleshooting MPO and LC connectorsPrevious experience supporting large-scale data center deploymentsAbility to work independently and meet production and quality expectationsWork EnvironmentThis is a field-based position performed in active data center environments.
