Chief Estimator

IMPORTANT: This is an onsite position requiring the ideal candidate to live within the metro Detroit region or suburb. OVERVIEW: Our client seeks a Chief Estimator to join their esteemed estimating group at their Novi, Michigan HQ. This high-profile role offers excellent growth opportunities and involves working closely with senior management to develop comprehensive construction cost estimates for lump sum General Contract and Design/Build projects. RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare detailed cost estimates for the civil/site work the company self-performs, including Structural Concrete, Excavation and Grading, Structural/Selective Demolition, and Site Utilities. Develop work scopes and solicit subcontractor pricing for the remaining civil/site and architectural work necessary for projects. Work closely with senior management to analyze project requirements, assess risks, and determine cost-effective solutions. Employ computer-based estimating tools and software to enhance accuracy and efficiency. Knowledge of HCSS Heavy Bid and Primavera P6 software is beneficial. MUST HAVE: Bachelors degree in civil engineering or construction management Wastewater Treatment estimating experience Heavy BID software experience Experience estimating both public and private projects NICE TO HAVE: Experience working for a general contractor in wastewater estimating Experience leading a team of other estimators
