Senior Staff Accountant

Job Summary: The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for overseeing general accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial transaction processing, and reporting financial results in accordance with GAAP. This role supports company-wide financial planning and analysis, engages in product cost review, supports the month end closing process, and liaises with cross-functional stakeholders to assess financial and operational performance. Responsibilities: 1.Financial Operations: Ensure accurate and proper coding of transactions in the Syspro General Ledger System. Assist with the monthly financial closing process and reconcile balance sheet accounts. Assist with the preparation of the monthly financial reporting package. Support the development of standard cost rates and implement them throughout the Syspro ERP system. Provide financial analysis to cross-functional teams ensuring performance KPIs are achieved. 2. Financial Planning & Analysis: Conduct expense and sales variance analysis and discuss results with department managers to drive continuous improvements. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, cash flow forecasts, and profit and loss forecasts. Conduct ad hoc analysis to support project ROI initiatives. 3. Accounts Receivable, Payable, and Inventory: Support AR and AP invoice and cash posting. Support Vendor and Customer set up and maintenance. Maintain inventory control systems and review inventory levels. Monitor and manage customer credit policies to minimize risk and optimize cash flow. Ensure timely collection of receivables and oversee the resolution of any payment discrepancies. Collaborate with Procurement to manage inventory costs and optimize purchasing decisions. 4. Operational Reporting: Support Production/Operations KPIs reports targeting throughput and utilization analytics to drive efficiency improvements. Update reports for Production to analyze job costing variances between actual versus expected performance. Support in updating models in relation to inventory levels and commodities costs. Provide product cost analytics to stakeholders to support cost savings initiatives. Update reports to support sales analytics for product line revenue and profit margins. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. 2 + years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting. Intermediate to advanced Excel skillset. Proficiency in ERP systems, especially Syspro. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
