This position is responsible for leadership during all phases of construction from pre-development through project closeout, maintaining strong client relationships as a trusted advisor.Key ResponsibilitiesProject LeadershipDirect planning, design, and delivery of site infrastructure (grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater, roadway connections) and vertical construction (buildings, parking structures, amenities, and site facilities)Provide oversight of architects, structural engineers, and contractors to ensure building design integrates seamlessly with site developmentCoordinate entitlement, permitting, and agency approvals across both site and building scopesMonitor and manage budgets, schedules, and project deliverables for integrated land + vertical development projectsOwner RepresentationRepresent the Owner's interests throughout all project phases, from entitlement and permitting through construction closeoutAssist in selecting and coordinating with contractors, consultants, and other third-party service providersReview bids, negotiate contracts, and oversee compliance with Owner's objectivesProvide technical oversight and advocacy during permitting, agency coordination, and public hearingsSupport construction administration, including shop drawing review, RFI responses, field inspections, and resolution of contractor issuesEnsure that Owner's financial, operational, and long-term maintenance considerations are protectedBusiness Development & Client RelationsBuild and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on development strategy and executionSupport proposal development, fee structuring, and contract negotiationsRepresent the firm in professional and community organizations, public meetings, and with regulatory agenciesTeam & Operational LeadershipMentor and develop project managers, engineers, and technical staffEstablish and enforce project management standards, quality control processes, and best practicesCoordinate with firm leadership on resource planning, workload distribution, and strategic growth initiativesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field7+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering and land development, including project management responsibilitiesDemonstrated experience representing Owners/Developers on complex land development projectsProven leadership, communication, and negotiation skillsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results under tight deadlinesWhy You'll Love Working HereProfessional GrowthTuition reimbursement & on-demand trainingClear career paths & promotion opportunitiesMentorship from peers and leadersCulture & CommunityBook club, happy hours & social eventsInclusive, collaborative environmentAnnual all-team meeting & donation match programRewarding CompensationCompensation: $130,000 - $160,000The salary range provided is a general guideline.
