Other Specialty Trade ContractorsCement and Concrete Product ManufacturingFoundation, Structure, and Building Exterior ContractorsPharmaceutical and Medicine ManufacturingScientific Research and Development ServicesSenior Chemist role with a stable, global building materials company, focused on improving performance and developing advanced concrete and cementitious technologies in a hands-on, applied R&D environment.Base salary $95,000-$120,000Benefits include medical, dental, vision, PTO, 401k.Key ResponsibilitiesLead technical efforts to enhance the performance, consistency, and quality of cementitious and concrete-based products across operations.Investigate material behavior and formulation performance to drive development of improved and next-generation products.Serve as a technical problem-solver for manufacturing and field-related quality issues, identifying root causes and implementing data-driven solutions.Partner with technical service and operations teams by providing laboratory analysis and testing to resolve field performance challenges.Design, execute, and refine chemical and physical testing methods for cementitious materials using advanced analytical techniques such as XRF, XRD, microscopy, laser particle size distribution, and related instrumentation.Establish and optimize testing procedures for complex materials and new equipment, ensuring accuracy, repeatability, and technical rigor.Oversee and validate physical and chemical testing conducted within the lab, maintaining high standards for data quality and reliability.Provide technical leadership within the laboratory by supervising, training, and mentoring junior staff in materials testing and best practices.Promote a strong culture of safety by taking ownership of safe laboratory practices in all day-to-day activities.Prepare clear, timely technical reports and effectively communicate findings to cross-functional stakeholders, including senior technical leadership.QualificationsDegree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field5–10+ years of industry experience in product development and R&D involving concrete admixtures, cementitious materials, or related construction material technologiesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design new test methods, interpret complex data, and apply research insights to practical material solutionsExperience setting up and optimizing advanced laboratory equipment and developing robust testing proceduresProven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and contribute in a collaborative technical environmentStrong technical communication skills, including preparation of clear, accurate reports and presentation of findings to technical leadershipExperience mentoring or guiding junior technical staff in laboratory practices and materials knowledgeAbility to represent the organization in technical discussions and interact confidently with senior stakeholdersCapable of working independently and helping direct technical work within a laboratory settingRole is primarily site-based with no travel requirement**If you'd like to hear more about this opportunity and others we are currently working on, please contact Tory Mack at tmack@cps4jobs.comJO: 8.26TM#LI-TM1
