This is accomplished through a comprehensive development strategy focused on identifying, cultivating, and inviting individuals and organizations to become committed champions of our mission.KEY OBJECTIVESProvide leadership, management, and accountability for all Development staff and functionsAchieve annual fundraising goals in alignment with the approved budgetStrengthen and steward donor relationships through intentional engagement strategiesOversee branding, marketing, and communications to ensure mission clarity and consistencyEnsure integrity and effectiveness of donor data systems and reportingLead and support core development areas: events, grants, planned giving, and donor relationsCollaborate as an active member of the Shared Services Director TeamSPECIFIC DUTIESLeadership, Management & Accountability (LMA)Ensure execution of the annual Development Work Plan and achievement of KPI goalsMaintain updated job descriptions, training plans, policies, and performance metrics for all team membersConduct regular supervision (minimum twice monthly) and annual performance reviewsSet and document annual goals through the Review and Refocus processDevelop volunteer teams to support events and strategic initiativesManage departmental budget responsibly and within approved limitsMaintain and annually update the Development Plan (submitted by March 30)Fundraising & Revenue DevelopmentPartner in setting annual fundraising goals and budget projectionsAchieve or exceed revenue targets across all funding streamsGrow planned giving to ensure long-term financial sustainabilityMaintain cost efficiency to maximize net ministry impactDonor Engagement & CultivationDesign and implement strategies to identify and acquire new donor prospectsCultivate meaningful relationships through events, communication, and personal engagementClearly communicate ministry vision, impact, and financial needsInvite individuals into deeper involvement as donors, volunteers, and advocatesDevelop donors into long-term champions of both the ministry and the broader Kingdom missionBranding, Marketing & CommunicationsDevelop and execute a comprehensive marketing and communications planEnsure brand consistency across all platforms and materialsOversee media, digital presence, and external messagingManage print, social media, web, and electronic communications strategiesDonor Data & Systems ManagementMaintain accurate and high-quality donor records and reporting systemsEnsure compliance with organizational and financial policiesOversee donor platforms, giving systems, and data integration with accountingConduct annual IT and data security review in partnership with IT leadershipDepartment Oversight Provide leadership and accountability for:GrantsPlanned GivingEventsExternal CommunicationsDonor RelationsOrganizational LeadershipActively participate in Management and Shared Services Director Team meetingsContribute to annual budgeting and strategic planning processesSubmit growth-focused initiatives to expand Development outcomesFoster a collaborative, anti-silo culture across departmentsSpiritual ResponsibilitiesConsistently represent and uphold the mission, values, and beliefs of COYFCEngage in and lead spiritual activities such as prayer, devotionals, and worshipEnsure all communications reflect Christ-centered integrity and characterSeek God’s guidance in decision-making, donor relationships, and ministry directionCommunicate Biblical foundations in a thoughtful and respectful way, especially with those of differing beliefs
