Job Title: Construction AssistantLocation: Phoenix AZ 85034Duration: 2 Months (6 weeks)Shift: 09.00 pm - 06:00 am Description:This role is responsible for active safety monitoring during hot work and elevated work activities.The individual will serve as a Fire Watch, Safety Watch, and Lift Spotter, ensuring protection from fire hazards, overhead work risks, and personnel exposure beneath active work zones. Core Responsibilities:Fire Watch DutiesMonitor all hot work activities (welding, brazing, grinding)Watch for sparks, embers, and ignition risksStay on post 30–60 minutes after hot work is completeEnsure fire extinguishers are present and readyImmediately act on any signs of smoke or fireOverhead Safety / “Underneath Work” ProtectionMaintain a clear exclusion zone under all elevated workActively prevent personnel from walking or working beneath lifts, ladders, or overhead crewsWatch for falling objects, tools, materials, or debrisEnsure barricades, cones, or tape are properly set and maintainedStop work or alert crews immediately if unsafe conditions developLift Safety / Spotter DutiesAct as a spotter for scissor lifts, boom lifts, or overhead equipmentMaintain line-of-sight communication with lift operatorsWatch for pinch points, obstructions, and pedestrian trafficEnsure safe travel paths and positioning of liftsAssist with safe movement in tight or active store environments General Safety Responsibilities:Maintain constant awareness is an active role, not passiveNo phone use or distractions while on watchCommunicate hazards immediately to foreman or site leadershipEnforce safety standards and OSHA complianceSupport overall site safety culture and accountability
