Network Engineer (m/f/d)

The role will support our customers globally and will be responsible for the implementation, security, operation and support of WLAN, LAN and WAN solutions.One of the initial projects that this person will support is a wireless project, including the implementation of structured cabling, AP installation and providing support for L3 network engineers who will configure the APs. The role will involve travel within the US and Canada to undertake surveys and complete quality checks on installations. It will also require directing and guiding 3rd party cabling contractors who complete work on our behalf.Key ResponsibilitiesManage multiple simultaneous network refresh projects consisting of the installation, configuration, maintenance and upgrading of various network components (access points, switches, firewalls, etc.)Design, test and implement new wireless deployments using a variety of industry tools such as Ekahau AI Pro, AirMagnet, Wireshark, etc.Collaborate and communicate with management, internal project teams and external implementation partners regarding project progress, system design, risk management, and issue resolutionAssist internal and external customers with troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues, providing root cause analysis and resolving problem tickets promptlyExperience and Skills we are looking forComprehensive understanding of the OSI model and networking architecture such as routing/switching, IP, TCP/UDP, and application layersRelevant industry certification such as Cisco CWNA, CCNA, CompTIA Network+, etc.Thorough understanding of wireless networking technologies and protocolsProfessional level experience with wireless analysis tools such as Ekahau AI Pro, AirMagnet, Wireshark, etc. with relevant certifications an advantageDemonstrated ability to analyze and troubleshoot problems, recommend solutions, and take independent actionArticulate communicator, customer and project delivery focusedFlexibility to travel (20%+) and to work non-standard hours from time to timeMotivated and assertive, comfortable working with, and directing others in a demanding project environmentStrong wireless skills and experience are critical for this role, then general networking skills, with unified communications skills an advantage
