You'll work with experienced engineering mentors to apply technical standards and contribute to project delivery. This role is ideal for engineers with hands-on experience ready to take ownership of project tasks and deepen their expertise.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology3–6 years of experiencePursuit of or have passed Professional Engineering (PE) Exam a plusProficient with the development and coordination of:Equipment layouts and site plansOne-line and three-line diagramsDC and AC collection systemsCable routing, trenching, and conduit layoutsConstruction details and technical notesIntegration of control and monitoring systemsPracticed ability to comprehend and interpret applicable electrical codes and standards, including NEC, NESC, and applicable IEEE standards.Experience coordinating with multi-disciplinary internal teams, clients, utilities, and equipment vendors to resolve design questions and support submittal reviews.Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, calculations, design narratives, and technical reports to support permitting, procurement, and construction.Advanced ability to develop and refine PV system layouts using AutoCAD based tools and PVcase, ensuring constructability and alignment with project constraints and client standards.Advanced ability at energy production modeling using industry standard tools such as PVsyst and System Advisor Model (SAM), including:Assumption development and validationLoss modeling and performance checksComparison of modeled results against project requirementsExperience with electrical calculations, including:Voltage dropDC and AC system lossesConductor sizing and circuit loadingLead the design of trench, duct bank, and cable ampacity studies using tools such as AmpCalc, CYMCAP, or ETAP, under supervision.Reliable and team-oriented, with demonstrated experience collaborating across disciplines to support project execution.Clear and professional communicator with demonstrated ability to convey technical information across teams and disciplines.Valid Driver's License is required.ResponsibilitiesExecute the design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion. This includes collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to develop equipment layouts, one-line diagrams, cable routing, communications systems design, grounding design, equipment selection, and equipment specifications.Apply and verify compliance with applicable electrical codes and standards, including NEC, NESC, and applicable IEEE standards.Perform and lead cable ampacity and trench design using software packages like CYMCAP, ETAP, or AmpCalc.Lead the modeling of electrical systems using software packages like ETAP or SKM for the generation of electrical reports, including short circuit analysis, reactive power and load flow analysis, and arc flash hazard analysis.Lead the development and review of grounding system designs for PV plants using tools such as CDEGS and WinIGS, including coordination with senior engineers on study assumptions and results.Collaborate with experienced engineers and contribute to knowledge-sharing while continuing to grow technical expertise.Accountable for the quality of your deliverables and for supporting peer reviews to uphold team standards.Engage with clients to clarify technical requirements, contribute to project updates, and ensure alignment with expectations.Execute project tasks independently within established scope, schedule, and budget parameters.Participate in occasional site walks for current projects, and act as a field engineer on construction sites.BenefitsHealth InsuranceDental InsuranceLife InsuranceShort-Term & Long-Term Disability InsuranceVision Insurance401(k) with matching and company profit-sharing contributionRich Bonus Program that rewards both company and individual performanceVacation & Sick TimeProfessional Development SupportAnd much more…At GPD Group, we believe in the value of every individual.
