This role includes inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, clinical leadership, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure exceptional patient outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesPatient CareProvide high-quality, evidence-based care for pulmonary and critically ill patientsPerform patient evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment planningRespond to patient calls, messages, and consultation requests in a timely mannerMaintain accurate and timely medical documentation, including daily patient encountersRecognize and appropriately respond to emergencies in alignment with organizational protocolsIdentify and report signs of abuse or neglect in accordance with policyPatient Access & SchedulingParticipate in an equitable physician call scheduleProvide patient access through clinic and hospital-based services using established scheduling templatesSafety & QualityAdhere to all safety, infection control, and regulatory standardsImplement standard and transmission-based precautions to ensure patient and staff safetySupport continuous quality improvement initiativesMaintain a clean, safe clinical and hospital environment and report any concernsLeadership (if applicable)Support provider engagement, communication, and operational alignmentAssist with provider scheduling and call coverage planningParticipate in performance reviews and provider development initiativesQualificationsEducation & TrainingDoctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)Completion of accredited residency (Internal Medicine) and fellowship in Pulmonary/Critical CareLicensure & CertificationsBoard Certified or Board Eligible in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care MedicineActive (or eligible for) Louisiana medical licenseRequired Certifications:Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart AssociationAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)About Lakeview Hospital & LCMC HealthLakeview Hospital is a leading community hospital serving the Northshore region, known for its patient-centered care and expanding specialty services.
